Boxing, also known as the "Sweet Science" is taught as a group class as well as a circuit class. The group classes consist of focus mitt drills, punching bag drills and core conditioning. The circuit classes add agility drills, speed bag, and use of other boxing paraphernalia.
Advanced members will also engage in sparring drills and actually box each other; which is not mandatory.
Kickboxing is a generic term for a Combat Sport which employs kicking and punching. Many martial arts participate in kickboxing including, Karate, Muay Thai, Western Boxing, Savate, TaeKwondo and Kung-fu.
There are two different types of Kickboxing classes taught at Valhalla. The first is a fitness based technique class which consist of bag work, plyometrics, core, and weight lifting.
The second is sports based kickboxing which emphsizes more technique and sparring theory and application. Members who want to be more serious should attend this class.

Muay Thai is referred to as the "Art of Eight Limbs" or the "Science of Eight Limbs", because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight "points of contact".
